For the past twlveyears, Dixie Dawn has put together a special show just for MHM.  This year’s show, “Trains, Planes & Automobiles” and will include country and bluegrass classics..  Dixie Dawn is a combo bluegrass and county band and is led by the always-popular David Johnson. They have been the opening band at Merlefest since it began in 1988.

The Dixie Dawn Band brings to the summer concert stage "Trains, Planes & Automobiles", a delightful trip on the various means of transportation and through the history of America by way of the country music picker.
